The service

Fobba is provided by Yedi Tech. It records students' arrivals and departures from fob taps at gate readers, works out attendance, texts guardians, and gives the school and parents a view of it. Some features need equipment the school provides, such as gate phones, fobs or fingerprint clocks.

Fobba is a record, not a safety system

Fobba records the taps it receives. It cannot know where a child is if a fob is not tapped, is tapped by someone else, or a reader is offline or broken, and texts can be delayed or blocked by phone networks. The school remains responsible for supervising its students and for its own procedures when a child is missing.

Accounts and access

• The person who registers a school must be authorised to act for it.
• The school's administrators decide who has staff access and must remove access when someone leaves.
• Keep passwords, sign-in codes and gate-phone pairing codes private. Tell us at hello@yedite.ch if you think one has been misused.

What the school is responsible for

• Having a lawful basis for the data it puts into Fobba, including the consent of parents or guardians where the law requires it, and telling them that the school uses Fobba.
• Keeping guardian phone numbers and other records accurate.
• Using Fobba only for attendance and messages about attendance, not to send marketing or unrelated messages.
• Its own equipment: gate phones, their SIM cards and airtime, fobs and clocks.

Text messages

Texts are sent either by our providers or, if the school chooses, from the school's own gate phone, in which case they use that phone's airtime. We do our best to deliver every text, but we do not guarantee delivery or timing, which depend on phone networks and on numbers being correct and able to receive messages.

Fees

Fees, if any, are those agreed with the school in writing or shown when it signs up. We will give schools notice before changing them.

The school's data

The school's records belong to the school. We use them only to provide Fobba, as described in our privacy policy. The school can export its attendance records at any time and can ask us to delete its data when it stops using Fobba.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Fobba available and to fix faults promptly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may improve or change features; if a change removes something a school relies on, we will tell schools in advance.

Suspension and ending

A school can stop using Fobba at any time. We may suspend an account that is used unlawfully or in breach of these terms, or that leaves agreed fees unpaid, and will say why. When a school leaves, it can export its records before we delete them.

Liability

Fobba is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by equipment, phone networks, incorrect records or events outside our control, and our total liability to a school is limited to the fees it paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
